Danish defending champion takes over lead in Tulip Golf Challenge
20 oktober 2018
Just like last year, the Danish August Thor Host has the win up for grabs in the 'boys' categorie after a round in 64 strokes (-8). That is no less than four strokes better than the current course record of Joost Luiten. Host leads the rankings with ten under par.
Marnick Modder, leader after day one, did not manage to shoot a score under par on the second day. After a round in level par, he is four strokes behind the Danish leader. Bob Geurts (Hoge Kleij) also has to go very low tomorrow and pick up at least six strokes to claim his third title this year.
In the 'girls' category, Danielle Modder strengthened her leading position after a second round in 71 strokes (-1). The Dutch living in Germany now has a four strokes lead over her closest opponents Natacha Host Husted from Denmark and Nora Klintheim from Sweden.
Mats Markovits also drew attention with a hole in one on hole 18 (his ninth hole). With this unique achievement he wins a stay for two people at Golfpark Condado de Alhama in Spain, sponsored by Compromise Domino and Golfvak.nl.
The third edition of the Tulip Golf Challenge is organized by Pro Golf Events at the Drentsche Golf & Country Club and is part of the Global Junior Golf Tour and Global Junior Golf 21golfleague. Results count towards the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
