Dutch delight at Tulip Golf Challenge

18 oktober 2019

After the first day of the Tulip Golf Challenge it is all ‘red, white and blue’ at the top of both leaderboards.

Although the wind was fairly strong and challenged most of the players, the weather turned out to be okay; while a lot of rain was predicted it only showered for 20 minutes during the first round, before the sun came out again.

Jim Woudenberg and Ricardo Veldman were able to manage the typical Dutch autumn weather better than the rest of the field by shooting the only two rounds under par today. At -2 they are leading the field with two strokes ahead of the nearest competitors in the boys division.

In the girls division Anne Sterre den Dunnen from the Netherlands leads the way after shooting a 73 (+1). The talented Dutch girl is closely followed by Emma Kaisa Bunch (Denmark) and Melissa Hentschel (Germany), both shooting 77 (+5).

The fourth edition of the Tulip Golf Challenge is organized by Pro Golf Events at the Drentsche Golf & Country Club and is part of the Global Junior Golf Tour and Global Junior Golf 21golfleague. Results count towards the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), NGF ranking and European Golf Rankings.

The tournament can be followed live via this link.
